Community visitors for adults

  • Community visitors

If you’re an adult with an intellectual impairment, psychiatric disability or cognitive impairment staying at a ‘visitable site’, we can visit you to make sure your rights and interests are being respected.
  • Adult rights at visitable sites

We all have human rights. Adults with impaired decision-making ability or who receive disability or residential services or involuntary mental health treatment have extra rights.
  • Information for staff at adult visitable sites

If you work at a place where adults receive certain NDIS-funded support services or at another ‘visitable site’, you must ensure our community visitors can carry out their duties.
  • Report an adult NDIS visitable site

If you manage a site where adult NDIS participants receive high levels of support or care, you must report the ‘visitable site’ to us.
