Report an NDIS visitable site

What is our role?

If you operate a site in Queensland where short-term accommodation, including respite, is provided to child NDIS participants, it’s you must report your site details to us four times a year.

This helps us ensure that children and young people at these sites are:

  • safe and well
  • having their rights and interests respected.

Reporting your visitable site is a legal requirement. This applies to both:

  • established sites we’re already visiting
  • new sites that have started operating.

What are NDIS visitable sites?

NDIS visitable sites are places where child NDIS participants receive short-term accommodation or respite away from their usual home. These sites provide carers with a temporary break from their caring role.

Visitable sites do not include private homes.

If you’re unsure whether your site qualifies as a visitable site, please contact us for clarification.

When do you need to report a visitable site?

You must report your visitable site to us four times a year, within 14 calendar days of the end of each quarter:

  • March quarter: report by 14 April
  • June quarter: report by 14 July
  • September quarter: report by 14 October
  • December quarter: report by 14 January

This includes:

  • all sites we’re already visiting
  • any new sites that began operating during the quarter.

Penalties may apply for late reporting.

How do you report a visitable site?

Reporting your site is quick and easy, taking less than a minute to complete.

You must report each site separately using our online form.

The form will ask for:

  • your service provider name, telephone number, and email address
  • the name and physical address of the visitable site (not your central or head office address).

What if you have questions?

If you’re unsure about the reporting process or whether your site qualifies as a visitable site, please contact us for help.
